Prof. Lang Xu joined the Institute of Transportation after receiving his doctoral degree in September 2018 and was promoted to associate professor in December 2022. He has served as a visiting scholar and research assistant at Shanghai Jiaotong University, Nanyang University of Technology, and York University, and has also served as a researcher at the Decision Consulting Base of the Development Research Center of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and the Shanghai Social Science Innovation Research Base. Following the construction of the Shanghai International Shipping Center, research on which he served as the main author, many conclusions were adopted by the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and the Shanghai Municipal Government, as internal participants, and the main participants won the second prize of the 11th Shanghai Decision Consultation Achievement Award and the third prize of the 12th Shanghai Decision Consultation Achievement Award. He has been invited to serve as a Guest Editor for Frontiers in Marine Science, Environment Science & Pollution Research, Sustainability, and other journals, and has served as Guest Editor for Production & Operations Management, Transportation Research Part B&E, Marine Pollution Bulletin, Marine Policy, European Journal of Operational Research, and other journals. His research topics mainly include transportation planning, management and logistics, and supply chain management.
