Dr. Ana I. Paniagua-García has been Laboratory Supervisor at the Biofuels and Bioproducts Centre of the Institute of Agricultural Technology of Castilla y León (ITACyL) since December 2011. She holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Sciences (Analytical Chemistry) and a M.Sc. in Food Biotechnology from the University of Oviedo (Spain) and a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Technology from the University of León (Spain). She has focused on bioconversion processes (degradation and enzymatic hydrolysis of lignocellulosic material and production of alcohols, organic acids, polyols, and PHAs by fermentation); recovery of bioactive compounds from plant by-products using green extraction technologies; analytical method development and validation; chromatographic analysis.
