Dr. Lianmei Yang received a B.Sc. degree in Weather Dynamics from Chengdu University of Information Technology in 1991, an M.Sc. degree in Meteorology from Lanzhou University in 2004, and a Ph.D. degree in Meteorology from the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2007. She is a research and chief engineer of the Urumqi Desert Meteorological Research Institute, China Meteorological Administration. Her research interests mainly focus on disaster weather mechanisms and forecasting technology, physical observation and research of cloud precipitation, and climate change in Central Asia.
