Dr. Leiguang Wang is a professor at the College of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture, Southwest Forestry University, Kunming, China. He obtained his Ph.D. from Wuhan University, China, in 2009. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of New Brunswick, Canada, from 2014 to 2015. He joined Southwest Forestry University in December 2009 and is currently a professor. He has been the vice dean of the Institute of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence since 2018. He has presided over and completed three National Natural Science Foundation youth and general projects and two major science and technology plan projects of Yunnan Province. He won one second prize of Yunnan Natural Science Award (2022, ranked first) and one third prize of Liang Xi Forestry Science Progress Award (2022, ranked second). He is a young- and middle-aged academic and technical leader in Yunnan Province and a “young top” talent in the Yunnan Xingdianying Plan. He is a member of the Thermal Infrared Remote Sensing Committee of the China Remote Sensing Application Association and a director of the Forestry Computer Application Branch of the China Forestry Society. His research focuses on remote sensing image fusion, semantic segmentation, and their application in forestry.
