Author Biographies

Mr. Junbao Xie is a master’s student in Materials Engineering at Fujian Normal University, supervised by Prof. Fuchuan Ding. He obtained his B.S. from the same university in 2022. His research focuses on superhydrophilic anti-fog coatings and improving hydrophilicity using organic/inorganic nanoparticles. He collaborates with industry to enhance coating durability and validate performance in real-world applications.
Ms. Anqi Liang is a master’s student in Materials Science and Engineering at Fujian Normal University, supervised by Prof. Fuchuan Ding. She obtained her B.S. in Food Science and Engineering at Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University in 2022. Her research focuses on hydrophilic anti-fogging and anti-protein adsorption coatings and improving hydrophilicity using organic/inorganic nanoparticles. She collaborates with industry to enhance coating durability and validate performance in real-world applications.
Ms. Lin Qin is a master's student in the Chemistry Department of Fujian Normal University, under the guidance of Professor Ding Fuchuan. She obtained her bachelor's degree from Neijiang Normal University in 2023. Her research focuses on the preparation of superhydrophilic anti-fog coatings, aiming to enhance their anti-fog performance, durability, and other properties by optimizing the chemical composition and microstructure of the coatings.
Mr. Chen Nantian is a master's student in Materials Science and Engineering at Fujian Normal University, under the supervision of Professor Ding Fuchuan. He received his bachelor's degree from the Hunan Institute of Engineering in 2023. His research focuses on hydrophilic - oleophilic acrylic copolymer cleaning films that enable the portable cleaning of high-precision optical instruments and demonstrate effective performances in practical applications.
Abbas Ahmed is a Ph.D. student in the Polymers Program at the Institute of Materials Science at the University of Connecticut, under the supervision of Prof. Luyi Sun. He received his bachelor's degree in textile engineering from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. His main research focus is on nanostructures and bioinspired materials, designing flexible nanoelectronics and soft robotics for smart textiles, healthcare, and energy-related applications.
Xiaoyan Li is a lecturer in the School of Chemistry and Materials Science at Fujian Normal University, focusing on polymer materials, engineering education, and applied polymer research. She received her B.S. in Polymer Materials Science and Engineering from the Hefei University of Technology (1995-1999) and her M.S. in Polymer Chemistry and Physics from Fujian Normal University, from 2001-2004. Her current research focuses on polymer material synthesis, functional modification, and practical implementation.
Prof. Rongkun Jian obtained his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and his PhD degree in Polymer Chemistry and Physics from the College of Chemistry, Sichuan University, in 2009 and 2014, respectively. From 2018 to 2019, he served as a Visiting Scholar at the IMDEA Materials Institute (Madrid Advanced Materials Institute). Since 2020, he has been working as a Professor at the School of Chemistry and Materials, Fujian Normal University. His research interests include the design and synthesis of multifunctional flame retardants, flame retardancy and the strengthening and toughening of polymer materials, anti-corrosion and anti-fouling coatings, and the recycling of thermosetting polymer materials.
Luyi Sun received his BS from South China University of Technology in 1998 and his PhD from the University of Alabama (advisor: Prof. Joseph Thrasher) in 2004. After his postdoctoral training at Texas A&M University (supervisors: Profs. Hung-Jue Sue and Abraham Clearfield), he worked at TOTAL Petrochemicals USA, Inc. from 2006 to 2009. He was an assistant professor from 2009 to 2013. Dr.Sun joined the University of Connecticut as an associate professor in 2013 and was promoted to professor in 2018. His research focuses on the design and synthesis of nanostructured materials for various applications.
Fuchuan Ding obtained his Bachelor’s degree from South-central Minzu University in 2001 and his PhD degree in Material Physics and Chemistry from Sun Yat-sen University in 2007. He served as a Visiting Scholar at Texas State University from 2011 to 2013 and at the University of Connecticut from 2013-2014. Since 2020, he has worked as a Professor at the School of Chemistry and Materials, Fujian Normal University. His research focuses on polymer nanocomposites and anti-corrosion and anti-fouling coatings.
