Prof. Guobin Liu obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Northwest Forestry University in 1982 and his Master’s and PhD degrees from the Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Ministry of Water Resources, in 1985 and 1996, respectively. From 1988 to 1990, he served as a Visiting Scholar at the NSW Agricultural Veterinary Research Center, Australia. He works as a researcher at the Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Ministry of Water Resources. He was awarded the First Prize of Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology in 2022, the Second Prize of Liang Xi Forestry Science and Technology Natural Science in 2021, the First Prize of National Science and Technology Progress in 2012, the Second Prize of National Natural Science in 2005, the First Prize of Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology in 2002, and the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress in 2001. He has been engaged in research on soil and water conservation and ecological restoration in the Loess Plateau and is the leader in knowledge innovation at the Soil and Water Conservation Research Institute.
