Prof. Dr. Xiaodong Liu is a professor at the School of Ecology and Nature Conservation, Beijing
Forestry University. He has worked at this university since 2005. He obtained a doctoral degree in ecology in 1997. From 1998 to 2001, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Beijing Forestry University, and from 2001 to 2005, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Renewable Resources at the University of Alberta in Canada. In addition, he holds many social roles, such as being appointed as an expert member of the fifth committee of the Forest Fire Prevention Professional Committee of the China Forestry Society and the China Fire Protection Association in 2007; being appointed the deputy secretary general of the sixth committee in 2014; being appointed as a member of the expert group by the Northern Aviation Forest Protection Station of the State Forestry Administration in 2016; and so on. He has won multiple awards, including the second prize of Liangxi Forestry Science and Technology and the first prize of Liangxi Forestry Science and Technology as the main participant in the project. His main research areas are forest ecology and forest fire prevention.
