Dr. Frederic Beugnet graduated as a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine from the National Veterinary School of Lyon, France, in 1990. He holds a PhD in Parasitology & Parasitic diseases, the Aggregation of Parasitology (i.e., University Professor) and the French Habilitation as Research Director (HDR). He is a Diplomate of the European Veterinary Parasitology College (EVPC) as an EBVS veterinary parasitology specialist. He spent more than 10 years teaching and researching at universities in Lyon and Paris, joined the pharmaceutical industry in 2000 and is still giving lectures and courses at universities of pharmacy and veterinary and medical doctors. His research interests started in the 1990s on nematodes and then quickly added the scope of arthropods. Since then, he has specialised in veterinary parasitology for dogs, cats and horses, antiparasitic drugs, modelling of flea and tick dynamics and epidemiology of parasitic and vector-borne diseases. Frederic is a member of several parasitology associations and an editor and reviewer of scientific journals. He has published hundreds of scientific articles and book chapters on parasitology. Frederic is currently the Head of Global Veterinary Technical Services for Parasitology and Parasiticides at Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health.
