Author Biographies

Mr. Corey D. Chan is an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at Newcastle University Translational and Clinical Research Institute. He completed his Undergraduate Medical Degree at Newcastle University, with an integrated Masters of Research Degree in Cancer Biology. He has since undertaken research fellowships at The Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging and Harvard Medical School, USA, and clinical fellowships at The Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology, the Netherlands. His current research focuses on the basic science and translational application of NIR fluorescence-guided surgery for bone and soft-tissue tumour resection, and he is a co-investigator on the SarcoSIGHT clinical trial. Mr. Chan is on the national committee for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh Core Surgical Trainee Forum, and currently leads the UK National Sarcoma Awareness Project. He is completing his higher orthopaedic surgical training in North East England.
