Prof. Dr. Mayron Alves Vasconcelos holds a degree in Biology from the State University of Acaraú (2008). He also holds a Master in Biotechnology (2010) and PhD in Biochemistry both from the Federal University of Ceará (2013). He completed a doctorate from the Center for
Biological Engineering of the University of Minho (Braga, Portugal) over the
period 2011-2012 in the area of Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology. He obtained
a post-doctoral degree (National Post-Doctoral Program) at PPG in Pathology
(2013-2017) and PPG in Fisheries Engineering (2019-2020)/UFC in the area of
Biotechnology. In the period 2017-2019, he was a Visiting Professor at the
Department of Biological Sciences of the State University of Rio Grande do
Norte. He is currently Professor Effective (Level IV, Grade A) of the State University
of Minas Gerais (UEMG). He is also the leader of the Research Group on Chemistry of
Macromolecules and Natural Products (LABQUIMP), certified by CNPq. He has experience
in the area of biochemistry, with emphasis on macromolecule chemistry, acting
mainly in the purification lines and the physicochemical and structural
characterization of proteins and their biological applications; applied
microbiology, acting in the physiological study of microbial biofilms and in
the biotechnological application of active compounds (natural and synthetic
products) in the prevention and control of pathogenic microorganisms; and cell
biology in the area of cell culture and in vitro tissue.
Prof. Dr. Edson Holanda Teixeira holds a degree in Dentistry from the Federal University of Ceará (1997) and a master’s degree (2001) and doctorate (2005) in Biochemistry from the Federal University of Ceará (2005). He is an Associate Professor I of the Department of Pathology and Legal Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine/Federal University of Ceará, Affiliate Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Researcher of the INCT Nanobiosimes Project (CNPq). He is a Professor and Vice-Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Natural Resources Biotechnology of the Federal University of Ceará, Professor of the Graduate Program in Pathology of the Federal University of Ceará, Collaborating Professor of the Graduate Program in Family Health of the Federal University of Ceará, Professor of the Northeast Network of Biotechnology (RENORBIO). He has experience in the areas of biochemistry and immunology, working mainly on the following topics: biological application of lectins and microbial biofilms. In the area of public health, he has experience in the management of public health systems and services.
Prof. Dr. Alexandre Holanda Sampaio is a Full
Professor at the Federal University of Ceará. He graduated in Fisheries
Engineering from the Federal University of Ceará (1982), Specialization in
Oceanography, IO-USP (1983), Master in Biochemistry from the Federal University
of Ceará (1992), Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, University of Portsmouth, England (1997), and Post-Doctoral in the Laboratoryatorie of Chemie Biologique
of the Université des Sciences et Technologies de Lille. He is currently a Full
Professor, in the Department of Fisheries Engineering of the Federal
University of Ceará, Deputy Director of the Center for Agricultural Sciences -
CCA of the UFC, and Coordinator of the CT-INFRA Program of the UFC. He was
Deputy Director of the Center for Agricultural Sciences of UFC (2003-2007 and
2007-2011); President of the Scientific Association of Agrarian Studies-ACEG
(2004-2011) of the CCA-UFC; and Head of the Department of Fisheries Engineering of
UFC (08/2013-06/2016). He has experience in the areas of fisheries resources and
fisheries engineering, working mainly on the following topics: marine
biotechnology, seaweed, sea algae lectins and marine invertebrates, protein
chemistry, protein structure, and bioactive compounds of marine organisms.
He is a member of the Advisory Committee (CA) of CNPq in the Coordination of the
Oceanographic Research and Environmental Impacts Program - COIAM - Biological
Oceanography (01/07/2019 to 30/06/2022).
Prof. Dr. Celso Shiniti Nagano graduated with a degree in Fisheries Engineering from the Federal University of Ceará (2001) and obtained a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Universitat de València (2007). He is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Fisheries Engineering at the Federal University of Ceará. He has experience in biochemistry, with an emphasis on proteins, focusing primarily on the following topics: structural characterization of lectins from marine organisms (algae and invertebrates), cloning and recombinant expression, site-directed mutagenesis, structural biology, and mass spectrometry for protein identification.
