Dr. Anne Mathews is an Associate Professor in the Food Science and Human Nutrition Department at the University of Florida. She completed her Ph.D. in Health and Physical Activity at the University of Pittsburgh in 2008, her M.S. in Foods and Nutrition at the University of Georgia in 1997, and her B.S. in Public Health Nutrition at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1994. Her research focuses on conducting community and clinical studies to promote positive lifestyle behaviors related to obesity and weight management, food insecurity, and chronic disease prevention, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, and diabetes. Her goal is to develop and disseminate effective interventions that encourage nutritious eating and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
