Dr. Erika V. Iyengar received her Ph.D.in Zoology from Cornell University in 2002. Dr. Iyengar is currently a Professor of Biology at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA. She conducts freshwater research (in both ponds and streams) in Pennsylvania and research on marine snails and terrestrial slugs at the Friday Harbor Laboratories on San Juan Island, Washington State, USA. Dr. Iyengar's research topics mainly include invertebrate and aquatic ecology, especially examining feeding and defense mechanisms in gastropods and crustaceans.
