Prof. Dr. Jianxi Yao is an associate professor at the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Energy Power Engineering, Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan, China. Prof. Yao graduated with a bachelor’s degree in naval architecture and marine engineering from Wuhan University of Technology in 2007, a master’s degree in naval architecture and marine structure design and manufacturing from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2010, and a PhD in naval architecture and marine engineering from Technical University of Berlin in 2015. His research interests include ship maneuverability and seakeeping, intelligent ship motion prediction, route tracking control, and CFD technology.
Prof. Dr. Zuyuan Liu is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Energy Power Engineering, Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan, China. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in ship and ocean engineering and a master’s degree in ship and ocean engineering fluid mechanics from Harbin Engineering University in 1984 and 1987, respectively. In 1990, Prof. Liu obtained his PhD in ship and ocean engineering fluid mechanics from Wuhan University of Technology. His research interests mainly include multidisciplinary ship design optimization methods and ship performance research. Prof. Liu is also the Vice President of the China Society of Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding, Executive Director of the China Shipbuilding Industry Association, and Vice Chairman of the Academic Committee of the Key Laboratory of High Performance Ship Technology of the Ministry of Education.
