Isidro Calvo received
a B.Sc. degree in applied physics, a M.Sc. degree in electronics and automatic
control, and a Ph.D. degree in control engineering from the University of the
Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Spain, in 1993, 1995, and 2004, respectively. He is
currently an associate professor with the Department of Systems Engineering and
Automatic Control, UPV/EHU. He has participated in more than 30 research
projects, obtained at European, Spanish and Regional calls, being the chief
investigator in some of them. He also worked for private companies for several
years and participated in several transference contracts with local companies.
At present, he has supervised four Ph.D.s and more than 40 final master/degree
projects. As a result, he has authored more than 100 papers published in indexed
journals and leading international conferences. His research interests focus on
industrial informatics, cyber-physical systems, advanced control techniques in
industrial applications and, also, in engineering education.
