Dr. Yajun Xu is a professor in the Department of Nutrition and Food Hygiene, Peking University. She received a bachelor’s degree in preventive medicine from Peking University in 2000 and a Ph.D. in nutrition and food hygiene from Peking University in 2005. She has managed over more than 60 scientific research projects at various levels and types, published more than 180 academic papers at home and abroad, won 10 scientific and technological achievement awards, authorized two invention patents, and edited and participated in the editing of 30 textbooks and books. She is also an expert member of the Ministry of Education’s Rural Compulsory Education Student Nutrition Improvement Program; a member of the National Technical Committee for Special Diet Standardization (SAC/TC466); a deputy director of the Nutrition and Chronic Disease Control Branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society; an executive director of the Maternal and Child Nutrition Branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society; an executive director of the Chinese Society of Environmental Mutagens and the deputy director of the Exposome and Exposure Science Committee; an executive director of the Nutrition Medicine Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Research Hospitals; and an executive member of the Nutrition and Nutrition Branch of the Chinese Health Promotion and Education Association. Her research topics mainly include early life nutrition and healthy development, food active substances, and health.
