Professor Shtaywy S. Abdalla
Professor Abdalla earned his first degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Baghdad, Iraq. He earned his M.Sc. in Physiology from the University of Jordan, where he was awarded a scholarship for a Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA in 1984. As an assistant professor at the University of Jordan, he taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Physiology and Endocrinology, conducted research, and supervised over 40 Master’s and Ph.D. students.
Professor Abdalla co-authored, translated, and edited books in Biology for high school students in Jordan and neighboring countries, as well as for university students. He also published over 70 research papers in international journals. Professor Abdalla served on the editorial boards of scientific journals locally and internationally.
Professor Abdalla (now Professor Emeritus) served in leading administrative positions at the University of Jordan, including Vice President for Academic Affairs and Vice President for Administration and Finance, and later served as President of Tafila Technical University (2014–2018). Currently, he is a member of the Council of Higher Education in Jordan, and head of the council’s Academic Committee.
