Jianyu Wang is an optoelectronics expert, mainly engaged in the research of space optoelectronics technology and systems. He graduated from the Department of Physics of Hangzhou University in 1982 and obtained his B.S. in Physics. Then, he received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electronic Science and Technology from the Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1987 and 1990. After graduation, he joined the same institute and is now a Researcher and Doctoral Supervisor. He was elected as an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Society of Space Research and the Director of the Chinese Optical Society.
