Author Biographies

My name is Pedro René Zea Dávila. I am a professor at the University of Cuenca in Ecuador, where I have taught for over a decade. I graduated as an Agronomist Engineer and hold a Master's degree in Agroecology and Environment. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD at the Polytechnic University of Madrid in the Rural Development Project Planning and Sustainable Management program. I have dedicated much of my career to agricultural development in the southern Andes of Ecuador, focusing on intensive agriculture, production systems, and precision agriculture. I teach Agroecology, sharing my knowledge with students passionate about sustainability. Additionally, I have worked as a technician in managing agricultural and environmental projects at the Sendas-INBAR Foundation. I am an active member of the Centre for Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Development (CBDS) at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, collaborating on research in forest ecology, agroecosystems, and silvopastures. In the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, I research energy efficiency, ecological variables, and vegetation indices. I am also involved in particulate matter management and creating green areas to enhance community life. Furthermore, I participate in the Industrial Management and Innovation Research group in the Faculty of Chemical Engineering.
