Dr. Franco Cicirelli received his Ph.D. in System Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Calabria, Rende, Italy. He has been a researcher at ICAR-CNR, Rende, since 2016. From 2006 to 2015, he served as a research fellow at the University of Calabria. His research primarily focuses on software engineering tools and methodologies for the modeling, analysis, and implementation of complex time-dependent systems. His current interests include agent-based systems, distributed simulation, parallel and distributed systems, real-time systems, workflow management systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), and cyber-physical systems. He is also actively involved in research on Petri nets, timed automata, and the DEVS formalism.
