Holger F. Bettinger has been a Professor at the Institute for Organic Chemistry at the University of Tubingen since 2008.
He earned his Doctorate at the Institute of Organic Chemistry, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (1995–1998), and worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Center for Computational Quantum Chemistry, University of Georgia, Athens, GA, USA, Lehrstuhl für Organische Chemie II, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany, and at the Department of Chemistry and Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology, Rice University (2000–2001). After Habilitation in Organic Chemistry at Ruhr-University (2001–2005), he became Privatdozent at the Faculty of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Ruhr-University (2005–2008). His research interests include boron-containing reactive intermediates, reactive organic pi systems, and organic materials.
