Dr. Basel Sultan is a Professor at the College of Engineering, Prince Sultan University. He earned his Master’s degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1990 and his Doctorate in Construction Management from Queensland University of Technology, Australia, in 2005. From 1992 to 2014, he worked at the University of Sanaa in Yemen. Since 2014, he has been a senior faculty member in the engineering college at Prince Sultan University, where he serves as a member of the engineering accreditation team and as the college’s research director. With over 30 years of experience in academic teaching and the construction industry, he has worked independently for both the private and public sectors. Later in his career, he focused on providing consultancy and engineering management services to local companies. He has developed expertise in cost estimation, planning, and preparing commercial and technical proposals for various engineering, EPC, and oil and gas projects. He has contributed to key local projects, such as the Asset Management project for the port city of Aden. In addition to his academic teaching, he is actively involved in research, has authored three books, and has designed and delivered several training courses in project management. Also, winning the prestigious HH Prince Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf Award for City Humanization is a testament to his influence and dedication to societal advancement.
Prof. Ibrahim Al-Hammad is a faculty member in the Civil and
Environmental Engineering (CEE) Department at Prince Sultan University (PSU),
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He holds a Ph.D. in Construction Engineering and
Management from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada, earned in
1991. His doctoral research focused on expert systems in civil engineering.
Before joining PSU, Prof. Al-Hammad was a King Saud University (KSU) professor
specialising in Engineering Law and Contracts in Saudi Arabia.
He has published over 30 papers in international refereed
journals and conferences and secured research grants from institutions like KSU
and King Abdullah City for Science and Technology (KACST). With over 30
years of industry experience, Prof. Al-Hammad has worked as a
consultant and has been assigned to engineering firms, providing expertise in
construction management and engineering law. He has also conducted numerous
workshops for engineers and served as a Board Member of the
Saudi Council of Engineers. Internationally, Prof. Al-Hammad spent 10
years as a Guest Professor at Stuttgart University, Germany, enhancing
his global academic perspective. His blend of academic excellence, research
contributions, and industry experience makes him a respected figure in
construction engineering and management.
