Prof. Dr. Zhihong Zhang graduated with a Ph.D. in Pomology from Shenyang Agricultural University in 1996 and stayed on to teach there. He was promoted to associate professor and selected as a master's supervisor in 1998, promoted to professor and selected as a doctoral supervisor in 2003, and promoted to second-level professor in 2013. He studied in Japan and USA. He is currently the academic leader of the horticultural plant biotechnology direction of the Horticulture Department of Shenyang Agricultural University. His research interests mainly focus on fruit tree genetics, breeding and molecular biology.
