Sirajudheen Thayyil Kadengal received his Ph.D. in Fish Taxonomy at the University of Kerala, India, and was awarded a second rank master's degree. He received a research fellowship from the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology, and Environment, India, and has received three best paper awards. He is currently a fisheries specialist in the KAUST Beacon Department, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia. He was recently involved in Fisheries stock assessment projects in the Red Sea. He has published 21 papers in various journals and serves as a lifetime member of the Association of Fisheries Graduates, India.
