Prof. Dr. Deming Gou studied for bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees at the College of Animal Science and Technology of Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University from September 1986 to July 1996. After graduating, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow, associate researcher and researcher at Wuhan University (1997-1999), Hong Kong Polytechnic University (1999-2011) and Oklahoma State University (2012-2014). He was successively appointed as an associate professor at the School of Life Sciences of Wuhan University (2011-2012), a research associate professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine of Oklahoma State University (2014-2019) and a tenured assistant professor at the Department of Pediatrics at the School of Medicine, University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) (2019-2021). He is currently a professor at the Department of Biotechnology, Shenzhen University. His research interests include the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension, and high-throughput sequencing of plasma cfRNA and its clinical translational applications.
