Author Biographies

Dr. Tamara Timic Stamenic is an Instructor at the Department of Anesthesiology, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and her Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Pharmacy in 2009 and 2015, respectively. She worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus from 2016 to 2019 and became an Instructor in April 2019. Dr. Timic Stamenic’s research goal is to improve preventive and treatment strategies for opioid misuse and use disorder by investigating the involvement of thalamic voltage-gated (T-type) calcium channels in the morphine effects. Her present work is focused on discovering changes in thalamocortical oscillations, sleep disturbances, and thalamic excitability after repeated morphine administration.
