Author Biographies

Ahmed Hebala is a full-time Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Control Engineering at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AAST). He earned his Ph.D. in the field of electrical machine design from the University of Nottingham in 2023. He also received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from the AAST in 2013 and 2017, respectively. His MSc dissertation was recognized and awarded by the Egyptian Ministry of Education as one of the best theses in Egypt for the period from 2016 to 2021. He was awarded the Marie Curie Research Fellowship and has been a Research Fellow with the University of Nottingham from 2018 to 2021. He was an Assistant Lecturer at the AAST for three years. He also worked for a major electrical machine design company (MDL) in Wales, UK, and for Mako Aerospace, where he worked as an Electrical Propulsion Engineer developing aircraft electrical systems. His main research interests include the design and optimization of electrical machines, thermal management of electrical machines, renewable energy sources, and process automation.
MONA I. ABDELKADER (Member, IEEE) received B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from the Engineering Faculty, Electrical Power Engineering Department, Alexandria University, Egypt, in 2005, 2010, and 2017, respectively. Since 2011, she has been an Assistant Teacher at AAST, where she has been appointed as a Lecturer in 2017. Her research interests include electrical machines, control, and power electronics for renewable energy systems.
Dr. Rania Assem Ibrahim is an Associate Professor at the Electrical & Control Engineering, College of Engineering & Technology, Arab Academy for Science and Technology (AAST), Egypt. She completed her PhD studies in Electronics & Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, UK, and has been awarded for being a Role Model Engineer in 2023 by the Egyptian Society of Engineers and several best presented papers in international conferences. Dr. Rania has an industrial experience background as a board member and an active IEEE member and is part of the IEEE Industry Engagement, Egypt. She worked in multiple research funding projects, and her interests include energy management systems, condition monitoring, and artificial intelligence applications on power systems.
