Dr. Fawaz Al-Mufti is the director of neuroendovascular surgery (neurology) at the Westchester Medical Center. He completed his M.D. at the College of Medicine, Nahrain University, fellowship training in neuroendovascular surgery at Rutgers University, and Neurocritical Care from Columbia and Weil Cornell Universities following his neurology residency at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He is one of the few triple-trained, board-certified neurologists, neurointensivists, and neuroendovascular surgeons in the country. He is a committee of the American Academy of Neurology and Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology and the Neurocritical Care Society. He is the co-chair of the Interventional Neurology Section of the American Academy of Neurology. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology and is a member of the core executive committee of Mission Thrombectomy. His areas of expertise include surgical management of strokes, cerebral aneurysms, cerebrovascular malformations, and general neuroscience.
