Mrs. Lerato Lucia Olifant is a final-year PhD student in Public Health at the South African Medical Research Council/Pan African Centre for Epidemics Research, University of Johannesburg. She completed her Master's Degree studies in Health Sciences in Transdisciplinary Health Promotion at the North West University and has been awarded an Extramile Award for her PhD study progress by the Department of Environmental Health, University of Johannesburg. She has published two papers in various journals that form part of her PhD studies, and one is currently being reviewed and revised for possible publication. During her PhD studies, she has served as a learner project judge held by the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists as part of her Community Engagement activities. She also serves as a mentor to the Master's Degree students in Public Health, where she assists students with writing their research proposals, mini-dissertations, and manuscripts. Her interests include Research, Health Promotion, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Public Health.
