Dr. Maria E. Ramos-Nino is a full professor at the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Pharmacology of St. George's University in Grenada. She teaches immunology and microbiology and serves as the director of the Microbiology Clinical Laboratory. Dr. Ramos-Nino’s research interests include: (1) the role of inflammation and its association with chronic diseases, (2) the off-label use of drugs prescribed for chronic disease management, (3) infection disease vectors and their potential reservoirs, and (4) wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) to monitor the community spread of pathogens and health factors.
