Dr. Yanhai Wang is an Associate Professor at the School of Life Sciences at Xiamen University. He received his BS (1991) and PhD (2001) in Zoology from Xiamen University. From 2008 to 2009, he was a visiting scholar at The Scripps Research Institute in the United States. His research interests are in the molecular mechanisms of parasite development and the interaction between parasites and hosts. He uses alveolar cysts as experimental models and the in vitro alveolar cyst culture system established in the laboratory to study the self-renewal and differentiation mechanisms of parasite germinal cells (stem cells), analyze the metabolic processes of parasitic worms, and explore the developmental mechanisms and metabolic mechanisms of parasitic worms.
