Author Biographies

Dr. Fahim Kanani is a dedicated surgeon with a strong passion for hepatobiliary and pancreatic (HBP) surgery, transplant surgery, and oncological research. He completed his medical studies in Italy in 2014 and gained early experience in organ-transplant surgeries and research in Verona. He completed his surgical residency at Tel Aviv Medical Center, a high-volume surgical department with ICU facilities. His research interests focus on basic and translational studies, particularly in gastrointestinal oncology, pancreatic cancer, and innovative surgical techniques. His final thesis in surgery residency centered on the role of probiotics in colorectal cancer liver metastasis. In addition, he is actively involved in evaluating advanced surgical approaches, including MILOS/EMILOS for ventral hernia repair and arterial resection in pancreatic cancer. His long-term goal is to pursue a fellowship in HBP surgery and transplant surgery, seeking opportunities for collaboration in both clinical and research settings.
