Gianluigi
Migliavacca works with RSE as a project manager. His areas of interest are
electric networks planning, competitive electricity markets and multi-energy
systems, including hard-to-abate industry and hydrogen. He studied at
Politecnico di Milano, graduating in Electronic Engineering (M. Sc.) in 1991. He
acted as coordinator of the European FP7 research project REALISEGRID
(2008-2011), then as work package leader in the key EU project eHIGHWAY2050
(2012-2015). More recently, he was coordinator of the Horizon2020 research
project SmartNet (2016-2019) aimed at analyzing TSO-DSO coordination for
allowing the participation of distribution inancillary services markets, and then was project
coordinator of the Horizon2020 project FlexPlan, creating an optimal
T&D grid planning methodology by considering flexibility as an alternative
to traditional planning. He is involved in ISGAN Annex VI, being responsible for the focus
area “Expansion Planning and Market analysis”.
