Jin Bo received his Ph.D. from Zhejiang University in 1998. He then joined the faculty of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and is now a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor. His main research areas are mechanical and electronic engineering, deep-sea electromechanical equipment, electro-hydraulic control, and multi-legged walking robots. In the research area of the electro-hydraulic control system, a new varying-speed electro-hydraulic control system based on an energy-regulating strategy is developed, which improves the dynamic response and control accuracy of varying-speed electro-hydraulic control systems (using a frequency inverter to control the pump speed) and obtains an efficiency-like pump control system. In research on the mechatronic control system in the deep sea, by applying the static pressure equilibrium principle to the fluid control system of deep-sea in-situ chemical sensors, self-calibrating in-situ chemical sensors with a low power consumption design were developed. It is used in long-term in-situ monitoring of the hydrothermal fluid.
