Prof. Dr. Raimondas Čiegis was born in 1958. He received a Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Mathematics, Minsk, Byelorussia, and a Habilitation degree from the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Vilnius, Lithuania, in 1985 and 1993, respectively, both in mathematics. He was a Senior Researcher with the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Vilnius, from 1982 to 1999, and the Head of the Department of Mathematical Modeling, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Vilnius, from 1996 to 2012. Currently, he is a Professor at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU). His current research interests include numerical methods for nonlinear partial differential equations, parallel algorithms, distributed computing, and mathematical modeling of industrial and technological problems, including nonlinear optics, simulation of thermal processes, and biophysics.
Prof. Dr. Minvydas Ragulskis received a Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics from the Kaunas University of Technology, Kaunas, Lithuania, in 1992. He studied applied mathematics at the Kaunas University of Technology from 1984 to 1989, where he has been a Professor of Applied Mathematics since 2002. In 2008, he founded the Research Group for Mathematical Analysis of Dynamical Systems, at Kaunas University of Technology. In 2015, the Group was reorganized into the Center for Nonlinear Systems, Kaunas University of Technology, where he is currently the Principal Investigator. His current research interests include nonlinear dynamics, time-series analysis, neural networks, and evolutionary optimization. Dr. Ragulskis was elected to be a member of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences in 2012.
