Giuseppe Rengo earned a degree in Medicine,  a degree in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, a Ph.D. in "Clinical Physiopathology and Experimental Medicine" and a degree in Cardiology at the University of Naples Federico II in 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2015, respectively. Starting October 2012, he has been an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Temple University, Philadelphia. Since December 2015, Dr. Rengo has been an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at the Department of Translational Medical Sciences of the University of Naples Federico II. Dr. Rengo is a member of several scientific societies such as the American Heart Association (AHA) and the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) study group on Myocardial Function. He is on the Editorial Board of PLOS ONE, Frontiers in Physiology, Dataset Paper in Biology, Cell Biology and Journal of Alzheimer's Disease. Dr. Rengo is an Abstract Grader for the abstract selection for the scientific sessions of the American Heart Association and a reviewer for the Medical Research Council, Swiss National Science Foundatio, ZonMw, TOP subside 2015 (Netherlands). His interests focused on the gene therapy-mediated restoration of G-protein coupled receptor signaling disregulation occurring during heart failure (in particular on cardiovascular and adrenal beta-adrenergic receptor and angiotensin-1 receptor signaling).
