Dr. Kaori Yamada is an Assistant Professor in the
Departments of Pharmacology and Regenerative Medicine and Ophthalmology and
Visual Sciences at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Chicago. She completed
her B.Sc. in Biology at the University of Tokyo in 1999 and earned her M.S.
and Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the University of Tokyo in 2001 and 2007, respectively.
From 2007 to 2009, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Illinois at
Chicago. She investigates regulation mechanisms of vascular functions,
especially angiogenesis and vascular leakage, in cancer metastasis and eye diseases.
