Author Biographies

Angela Rocchi is an MD/PhD Candidate at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. She completed her Graduate Fellowship in the Center for Neurovirology and Gene Editing of the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Inflammation. Her work, focused on the development of a CRISPR antiviral targeting the JC virus, was funded by the Interdisciplinary and Translational NeuroHIV Research Training Program of the National Institutes of Health. Rocchi was awarded the 2024 Dawn Marks Award and is now pursuing her MD at Temple University Health. Prior to attending the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Rocchi obtained her MS in Nutrition (2018-2019) from the Institute of Human Nutrition at Columbia University, where she researched the neurological relationship between obesity and inhibitory control with Drs. Yael Cycowicz and Diana Rodriguez Moreno, and was selected as Class Speaker. Rocchi also obtained her BS in Neuroscience with minor focuses in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics (2013-2017) at the Honors College of Washington State University where she was recognized as a Top Ten Senior for Academics, an S Town Stephenson Scholar, and a Reagents Scholar with Distinction.
