Professor Félix E. Pérez-Jiménez has dedicated his professional activity to road research, which is especially relevant in the area of bituminous mixtures and binders. He developed and perfected new tests for the design of porous mixtures, the assessment of the bonding between asphalt layers and the evaluation of the fatigue behavior of asphalt mixtures. He has received several scientific awards and recognitions, such as the ESPAS 90 Award from the Association of Asphalt Producers, the 1991 City of Barcelona Prize for Technology and the Environment, the Medal of the Spanish Road Association, and the International Prize for Innovation in Roads "Juan Antonio Fernández del Campo" 2005.
Rodrigo Miró is Professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. He has developed new procedures and tests for the characterisation of bituminous mixes, as well as new, more sustainable asphalt mixes, to increase the durability of road pavements. He has been awarded the Road Medal of Honour with Special Mention 2024 by the Spanish Road Association and the Medal for Technical Contribution to Roads 2024 by the Technical Road Association.
Dr. Adriana Martínez holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and serves as an Associate Professor. Her research activities are related to the characterization of asphalt paving materials, including hot and cold recycling of asphalt pavements. In recognition of her contributions to the field, Dr. Martínez was awarded the International Prize for Highway Innovation “Juan Antonio Fernández del Campo” in 2005, as well as the Best Innovation Award at the XXVI World Road Congress (PIARC) in 2019.
Teresa López-Montero is Serra Húnter lecturer of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Her main research line is the development of more sustainable asphalt mixtures for road pavements. She is the principal investigator of two research projects each funded by the Barcelona City Council and the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
María González holds a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering. She has been responsible for R&D on polymer-modified and conventional bitumens at the MOEVE company since 2016. Her main research lines are focused on bituminous binders, polymer modified bitumens, sustainable binders, biobinders and durability assessment.
Javier Cabeza is Laboratory Technician. He has assisted in R&D responsible for polymer-modified and conventional bitumen at MOEVE since 2017. His main lines of work are development and execution of experiments and data analysis on bituminous binders, polymer modified bitumen, sustainable binders and biobinders.
