Rainer
Hillebrand has been professor for international economics at Fulda University
of Applied Sciences, Germany, since 2011. He received his doctorate in
economics from the University of Potsdam, Germany, with an analysis of the effects
of economic globalisation on environmental policies in Germany and the EU. Previously,
he was DAAD Lecturer in Political Economy und Deputy Director at the Institute
for German Studies, University of Birmingham, UK (2008-11) and Research
Associate at the Chair of Economic Policy and International Economics,
University of Potsdam, Germany (1994-1999). Between 1999 and 2008, Rainer
Hillebrand held various positions in the area of politics in Berlin, Germany,
and Brussels, Belgium. In his research, Rainer Hillebrand focuses on the
political economy of Germany, in particular on the specific German variant of
capitalism, i.e. Ordoliberalism/the Social Market Economy; the country’s role
and position in the European Union and during European crises. Besides, his research focus is on environmental economics, including issues of climate change and energy security and policies of ecological
modernisation. He is member of the Political Studies Association (PSA), German Politics
Specialist Group, and the International Association for the Study of German
Politics (IASGP).
Rebecca Rosa holds a Master's Degree in Global Enterpreneurship Economics and Management by the University of Insubria, as well as a Master's Degree in International Management by Hoschule Fulda University of Applied Sciences. With a backgroud in the field of linguistic and cultural mediation, Rebecca has developed an interest in the study of sustainable and circular models and practices across different industries and countries.
