Geophysical Union (AGU). His research interests include GIS spatial analysis
and application development, hydrological remote sensing and hydraulic mapping,
flood simulation, and flood risk management.
Prof. Jie Ren is an Assistant
Professor at the School of Marine Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University. He completed
his PhD studies in Environmental Sciences at Sun Yat-sen University in 2003.
His research focuses on estuarine kinetic depositional processes. His research
work mainly includes the study of bidirectional jet power deposition in the
Pearl River estuary (National Natural Science Foundation of China), the
comparative study of estuarine jet patterns (Provincial Foundation), the
microstructure study of the jet system in the Pearl River estuary (Provincial
Foundation), and the exploration of the methodology and technology of long
period modeling on the decadal–centennial-scale and the millennial-scale
(important participant in the 973 and national key projects).
