Dr. Carlos A. V. Rodrigues holds an MSc in Biological Engineering (IST) and a PhD in Bioengineering (IST). Currently, Carlos Rodrigues is an assistant researcher at the iBB (Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences), i4HB (Institute for Health and Bioeconomy), where he coordinates the "Bioreactor and Biomaterial Technologies for Stem Cell Manufacturing Lab". He is also an invited assistant professor at the Department of Bioengineering of Instituto Superior Técnico. His research has focused on the development of bioreactor systems for the scalable cultivation of pluripotent stem cells, combining experimental and computational tools, such as machine learning or computational fluid dynamics. Carlos Rodrigues is currently applying his experience in animal cell culture to the emerging area of cellular agriculture. He is the co-founder of CellAgri Portugal, the Portuguese association for the development of cellular agriculture.
