Prof. Dr. Yantao Liang is a professor at Ocean University of China, Qingdao, China. He earned his Ph.D. at the Environmental Science, State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science, Xiamen University since 2011–2014. He is currently a professor at the School of Marine Life Sciences, Ocean University of China. His research field focus on viral diversity and evolution, the community structure, distribution patterns, regulatory mechanisms, and ecological roles of viruses and their hosts in different marine habitats, as well as microbial-driven marine carbon sequestration.

Prof. Dr. Nianzhi Jiao is a professor at the Xiamen University, Xiamen, China. He was a postdoctoral fellow of the Institute of Oceanography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences from 1991 to 1992, a postdoctoral fellow of the University of Tokyo in 1993, a researcher of the Institute of Oceanography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences from 1994 to 2000, and a distinguished professor of Changjiang Scholars at Xiamen University; moreover, he is a professor of the University of Maryland, a academician of the CAS Member and member of the American Academy of Microbiology. His research areas include carbon pumps in marine microorganisms, physiological ecology of marine microorganisms, molecular ecology, and related resource and environmental effects.
