Dr. Miłosz Mielcarek is an Adjunct Professor at the Laboratory of Geomatics, Forest Research Institute. He completed his MSc studies in Forestry at Warsaw University of Life Sciences in 2012, and MSc studies in Forest Information Technology at Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development in 2012. His research interests include geographic information systems (GIS), satellite image analysis, spatial analysis, a grinder, satellite imagery, life+, cartography, geodesy, and surveying.
Prof. Dorota Dobrowolska is a Professor of Forest Ecology at the Forest Research Institute (IBL). She completed her PhD studies in Forestry at the Faculty of Forestry, Warsaw University of Life Sciences in 1997, Postdoctoral studies at the Forest Research Institute in 2009, and has been awarded by the Ministry of Environment for the project: Restitution of Silver for Karkonosze National Park in 2009. Her research interests include dynamics of gaps in stands, disturbances in forest ecosystems, restoration of forest trees, and climate change and its environmental impact.
Dr. Ewa Zin is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Natural Forests, Forest Research Institute (IBL). She completed her MSc studies in Forestry at the Faculty of Forestry, Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) in 2008, MSc studies in Germanology at the Institute of German Studies, Faculty of Modern Languages, University of Warsaw in 2008, MSc studies in Forestry Sciences at the Faculty of Forestry, Swedish University of Agriculture (SLU) in 2008, and PhD studies in Forestry Sciences at the Faculty of Forestry, Swedish University of Agriculture (SLU) in 2016. Her research interests include dendroecology, dendrochronology, history of fires, controlled fires, stand dynamics, regeneration dynamics, disturbance dynamics, and botany.
Dr. Yousef Erfanifard is an Associate Professor at the University of Tehran. He completed his B.Sc. studies in Forest Sciences at the Gorgan University of Agriculture and Natural Resources in 2000, M.Sc. studies in Forest Sciences at the University of Tehran in 2002, and Ph.D. studies in Forest Sciences at the University of Tehran in 2008. He has worked on ecological interactions of trees and the application of remotely sensed datasets obtained from aerial platforms in biostatistics of forests at the single tree level. His areas of interest include spatial ecology, high-resolution remote sensing, and vegetation biometrics.
Prof. Dr. Krzysztof Stereńczak is a Professor at the Research Institute of Forestry (IBL), Head of the Geomatics Department at the Research Institute of Forestry, and Leader of the Precision Forestry Team at IDEAS NCBR. He completed his MSc studies at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Forestry, the University of Salzburg (UNIGIS), and the Warsaw School of Economics in Executive MBA, and his PhD studies in Forestry at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) in 2011. His scientific interests include monitoring and inventory of forests using remote sensing data, precision forestry, and forest management.
Member of the Forest Science and Wood Technology Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He has completed scientific internships at the University of Freiburg and the WSL. His output includes almost 180 peer-reviewed scientific publications, most of which have been published in journals listed in the Journal Citation Report. He was the supervisor of six PhD dissertations, including four dissertations that were awarded a distinction. He continues to supervise five doctoral students.
