Author Biographies

Tanner Honnef received his Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Clark University in 2024 and is now pursuing a Master of Science in Geographic Information Science. During his time at Clark, he has worked as both a research assistant and course assistant. His research topics mainly include land change science, GIS, and urban forestry.
Robert Gilmore Pontius Jr is Professor in the School of Geography at Clark University, USA. He earned his PhD in Environmental Science at the State University of New York and has been a Fulbright Scholar. He has led projects concerning long-term ecological research in the USA and land change in Brazil. He has published more than 95 journal articles that have been cited more than 19000 times. His teaching and interests include GIS and land change science.
