Lena Hollenstein, Dr, is a senior researcher at the University of St.Gallen and co-head of the Master of Early Childhood Studies. Her research focuses on early childhood education and teacher education in digital education, teacher expectations and teacher professional competence. Her research includes both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Her current project focuses on teacher professional development in AI and equitable digital education for primary school children. She has worked on gender-sensitive pretend play ideas for digital transformation in kindergartens. She received her PhD in Educational Research from the University of Cologne, Germany, where she investigated teachers' expectations and their relation to primary school students' mathematics achievement. Lena Hollenstein received an AERA travel award in 2022. Lena Hollenstein is a member of the Swiss Society for Early Childhood Research (SSECR), the Swiss Society for Research in Education (SSRE), the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI), the European Early Childhood Education Research Association and the Society for Empirical Educational Research (GEBF).
Marius Vogt studied Elementary Education and Early Childhood Studies at the University of Education Weingarten, Germany and the St. Gallen University of Teacher Education, Switzerland. From 2022 to 2024 he worked as a research assistant in the projects KitaProSprache at the University of Education Weingarten and EarlyMath at Otto-Friedrich-University Bamberg. Since 2024, he has been a scientific employee and doctoral student at the St. Gallen University of Teacher Education and works in a project on Digital Education for Equity in Primary schools (DEEP Development). In educational practice he gained experience in a kindergarten in Ravensburg and in a Family Center in Singen. Marius Vogt is a junior member of the Swiss Society for Early Childhood Research (SSECR).
Franziska Vogt, Prof. Dr., is the Director of the Institute of Early Childhood Education 0 to 8 years at the St. Gallen University of Teacher Education, Switzerland. Her research focuses on early childhood education, quality, cooperation, and professionalization. Current projects address play, digital education, early language development and multilingualism, gender equity, and inclusion. Her research includes qualitative as well as quantitative research methods. She received her PhD in Educational Research from Lancaster University, United Kingdom, researching teachers’ teamwork.
