Prof. Jingao Dong currently serves as the Dean of the College of Plant Protection, Hebei Agricultural University. He is also the National Corn Industry Technology System Post Scientist (first batch), Chief Expert of Plant Protection in Hebei Province, and Chief Expert of Hebei Agricultural University. He received his bachelor's degree in 1984, his master's degree in 1987, and his doctorate in 1998. He visited the Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences twice in 1999 and 2000; from May 2003 to September 2003, he worked as a senior visiting scholar at the DDPSC Center in the United States, engaged in the cloning and efficient expression of disease resistance genes in Arabidopsis; from September 2003 to February 2005, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in the United States, engaged in the bioinformatics analysis of iron absorption genes in anthrax; since 2009, he has visited the United States, Russia and other countries for many times. His research areas are the mechanism of corn disease occurrence and integrated prevention and control, the molecular biology of microbial-host interaction.
Dr. Zhenying Wang currently is the director of the Agricultural Insect Research Laboratory, Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the deputy coordinator of the International Work Group on Corn Borer and Other Pests (IWGO), executive director of the Chinese Society of Plant Protection, vice president of the Beijing Entomological Society, and member of the National Technical Committee for Agricultural GMO Biosafety Standardization. He graduated from the Department of Plant Protection of Hebei Agricultural University with a bachelor's degree in agronomy in 1983. In 1986, he graduated from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences with a master's degree in entomology. In 1995, he graduated from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences with a doctorate in agronomy. From May 1994 to May 1995, he conducted cooperative research at the Institute of Biological Control, German Research Center for Agroforestry and Biological Research; from October 1998 to March 1999 and from December 2006 to June 2007, he conducted cooperative research at the Corn Pest and Crop Genetics Research Institute, Agricultural Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture. His research directions are biology, ecology and integrated control technology of corn pests.
Prof. Yuyu Wang currently works as the Professor, Doctoral Supervisor and Department Head at the College of Plant Protection, Hebei Agricultural University, China. She obtained a Bachelor of Agronomy, a Bachelor of Management and a Doctor of Agronomy at China Agricultural University. She also completed a Jointly trained PhD program at Vanderbilt University College of Biological Sciences. Her research directions are 1. Insect phylogenetic genomics; 2. Insect comparative mitochondrial genomics and phylogeny; 3. Genetic diversity and phylogeography of important agricultural and forestry insects. She was the Secretary-General of the Hebei Entomological Society and a member of the Management Committee of the Youth Academic Salon of Beijing Agricultural University.
