Dr. Xiaoshan Wang is an associate professor at the
College of Animal Science and Technology, Yangzhou University. He obtained a
bachelor’s degree in agronomy from Hebei Agricultural University in 1999 and a
Ph.D. from the Grassland Research Institute, China Agricultural University, in
2007. From July 1999 to September 2002, he was a clerk at the Hebei State-owned
Yudaokou Ranch. In July 2007, he joined the School of Animal Science and
Technology, Yangzhou University, as an associate professor. From January 2008
to December 2009, he was a team member of the Jiangsu Provincial Party
Committee’s Poverty Alleviation and Well-off Work Team in Xiangshui. From April
2009 to June 2012, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Jiangsu Academy of
Agricultural Sciences. From October 2012 to November 2013, he was a visiting
scholar at the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, USA. He presided over the
Natural Science Research Program of Jiangsu Universities, the Innovation
Cultivation Fund Project of Yangzhou University, and other projects. He is a
member of the Chinese Grassland Society, an executive director of the Youth
Workers Committee of the Chinese Grassland Society, a director of the
Biotechnology Professional Committee of the Chinese Grassland Society, and a
director of the Forage and Grassland Professional Committee of the Jiangsu
Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Society. His research direction is forage
genetics and breeding.
