As an Associate Professor in Sports Management at the University of La Réunion (France, Indian Ocean), I hold a PhD in Geography and specialize in the territorial analysis of sports, tourism, and leisure. My research adopts an interdisciplinary approach, integrating socio-economic dynamics, marketing, and sustainable development, particularly in small islands and outermost regions. A recognized expert in the interactions between sports, tourism, and territorial planning, I examine the structuring processes of recreational spaces, the evolution of sports and tourism practices, and their impact on local economies. My expertise also extends to territorial engineering and innovation in sustainable development, with a strong focus on the revitalization of urban and regional priority areas. With over 20 years of experience in academic research and territorial governance, I have developed a strategic approach to local development, bridging applied research, experimentation, and collaborative governance. My engagement with public and socio-professional stakeholders has enabled me to support the implementation of public policies and innovative initiatives in sports management, sustainable tourism, and territorial adaptation to contemporary challenges. As a speaker and author of numerous scientific publications, I actively contribute to academic debates and strategic reflections on the challenges of territorial development in island contexts.
