Jaime Cuartero obtained his degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Universidade de Vigo (Spain) in 2018 and his Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain) in 2020. Since 2021 he has been working as part of the Advanced Laser Microprocessing Department at AIMEN Technology Centre, collaborating on several R&D projects focused on laser micromachining, texturing, cutting, and two-photon-polymerization among other areas of research.
Sara M. Vidal obtained her degree in Physics in July 2013 at the Universidad de Salamanca (Spain). She subsequently obtained an M.S. in Photonics and Laser Technologies at the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (Spain), where her final experimental project was based on direct laser writing on fused silica with femtosecond lasers. She has worked in the laser microprocessing area of AIMEN Technology Centre since July 2014. She is focused on microfabrication, two-photon polymerization, micromachining, and surface texturing with pulsed lasers in the range from micro to femtoseconds. She has published several papers.
Nerea Otero is an industrial engineer and DAS in Materials Science. She has experience in surface processing using laser and thermal spray. Since 2008 she has been a researcher in the Laser Applications Centre of AIMEN, working in laser materials processing and specifically in the laser microprocessing of silicon, metals, and polymers, on which subject she has written several papers and communications to international congresses. She has been involved in the development of applications for laser microprocessing in many European projects, particularly the development of knowledge and methodologies to realise novel industrial processes and equipment.
Natalia M. Schulz studied Polymer Engineering in Practical Networks (B. Sc.) and Applied Materials Sciences (M. Sc.). She worked as an engineer at the Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research, Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institut, on the development of additive manufacturing materials. She has published seven scientific articles to date.
Tobias Robert has a BSc. Degree in Chemistry as well as a PhD, both from the University of Cologne (Germany). He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, and at the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany, before taking his current position as Scientific Project Manager on Polymer Synthesis at the Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research, Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institute. He has 45 peer-reviewed papers (23 as corresponding author, h-index: 21, Web of Science), four patents and patent applications, two book chapters, and 22 conference presentations.
