Dong Liu earned, from the Nanjing Tech University, a PhD in biochemical engineering (2014). He is now the professor of the National Engineering Research Center for Biotechnology in Nanjing Tech University, China. His work in biotechnology and bioengineering has resulted in 70 publications, 124 China patents and 8 international
patents. He is honored as the Jiangsu Province “Qinglan Project Excellent Young
Scholar” (2020). His research interests include synthetic biology, metabolic engineering, microbial
morphology and physiology, biomolecular condensates and cell aggregates, industrial
continuous fermentation, edible fungi, and plant cell culture.
